I agree 100% sounds like he has connections.

If basketball wins the SBC tournament this year and gets into the NCAA, just wait until you see the NIL funds coming in and the attendance going up tremendously. This town has been craving to have a good basketball program again for a long time! Thank goodness lowly Bob is gone!

I’d bet softball is facing the same problems.
He wanted more money than Leger, wasn't going to happen. He has a certain amount of money for coaches and that is it. He agreed to the deal and unless he finds more money that is the salary offered. It is what it is right now.

A more qualified and experienced coach should want more money than Leger. Hard to find more money in the budget when they have already slashed you.

Good point...since the volunteer coaches used to get other funds somehow, including camp monies, what happened to those monies now without a volunteer coach, could that supplement another salary

If that is the case, it shows what I meant in an earlier post. Stats will not always determine why a coach goes after a portal kid. Sure it looks great on paper but these Coaches know that often times talent is the farthest reason for why the majority of these kids have a less than successful year (especially as a true freshman).
Sounds very likely this was the case.

Leger is football OC and RC. No way an assistant in any of the other sports will make that

As much as I would have like to have him, no way was he getting more than our former pitching coach.
