Students at UL who have positive experiences in academics and/or athletics can be a donation engine for the university for years to come. The key is creating experiences that create value for the student, now alumnus. If a student goes to a football games, enjoys the seating, experience, and winning culture how much more likely are they to donate in the future?
The problem we have at UL is we missed out on creating those donation engines especially in football from about 1997 to 2011. The future value of a student that graduates from UL is uncertain, but creating experiences that build attachment to the university are a great way to ensure that the student remembers UL in their charitable giving.
