Went to a few games in last year of Bo years, was not a student, friend got us in.
Student at UL from death penalty to ‘79. Only missed 2 games from program return thru 91. Marriage and flu.
Saw all the historical moments in Blackham during my time after death penalty except Glen Duhon getting run in 1980. From AA’s dunk fest to Dion Brown’s corner jumper to Mr Foreman passing away courtside, saw it all.
I was there from Spring semester '68 to end of Spring semester '72. Was there for the whole transformation from Div II to Top 10, Div. I. My first semester, Blackham was undergoing repairs, and the games were played in the men's gym. It was not a sellout. Four years later, you could hardly get into a game.
I went to USL from 1965 to 1970. I also Followed the Cajuns during the Bo Lamar and Andrew Tony Days.
It was shelved years before CBN took him to UF. The team (NERD Pictures) disbanded. Doug got hired by the Uni and had a fulltime job. Came on RP and cited family/health issues as to the delay or lack of focus. Then boot scootin' boogie'd to Gainesville.
It will never be completed. I hope that the University retained the material that was generated at least (interviews with former players/coaches, and unearthed game film).
