My next question is if someone is a grey shirt, are they on a full scholarship while being grey shirted?

So since at this time we do not know if Mr. Walker will get eligible for the fall or not. So do we hold his scholarship in hand and give it to him if he gets eligible and if he does not what do we do with an extra scholarship in hand that close to the start of the season.
Or do we tell him up front that he will grey shirt no matter what happens and promise him a scholarship for next season (like LSU is doing with the Johns kid) assuming he does everything to be fully eligible for the next season.
I aske this because I do not know what is common practice with grey shirts.
Also holding a scholarship that may not be used, could have been given to someone now such a another DT that is eligible. Seems like a risk!
Down right excellent.

That is correct.
But in some cases, fully qualified recruits will not enroll at all until January of the following year. Texas Tech was one of the first schools to start redshirting prospects and did that with a handful of its players, many of whom are now starters.
Another benefit is that greyshirts do not require a scholarship until the following year.
I have seen some clips of Walker. He looks great and played in a zone read system.
I also saw him at a game this year. No way he is 187 lbs.
Mamou did use zone read and if you noticed Walker has really good vision when it comes to finding the hole and he also has the ability to cut it back and make big plays.
duuuuuude we got walker
