He sold the program to the people he needed to....Recruits. I still maintain its not necessarily a coaches job to "sell" the program. There are plenty of people hired to help do that. However, one thing Hud was amazing about doing was getting out into the public and doing speaking arrangements and such. He was a hot commodity and people just bought into the charisma, especially after that first season and its success. He was a rockstar in town.

It’s amazing how many people out there are NOT into Twitter, FB, IG and such. Too much drama at times they don’t want.

New stadium build up card was played two years ago. Done blew that chance. If anything, that, followed up with a meh season hurt with casual fan.

Maggard, Des and company have a mountain to climb.
Just plug into RR and RP and listen to the right folks and all will be good.

Word of mouth worked better than social media.

I'm subscribed to what you mention and Only one of the 4 you mentioned did I see. Two days, ago.

I haven't look in 3hours so perhaps two of the four will pass my way.
What age group are you talking about with social media? That is how the college students get all their information. From what I understand that’s how they gonna market to students this year.

Just last year for basketball an independent student that has a social media account started a tweet / thread about a pregame party on frat row in an empty lot and then go the game. The UPs shut down the pregame but that social media thread started by that student created the biggest crowd of the year. The administration took notice.

    100% correct!

    And guess what?

They are not getting the information.

That's "Social media spreading a viral message.

Much closer to word of mouth than just posting something on social media.

I'd like to see how many tweets peat's and repeats that party had.

Thats because it wasn’t done in the past. The efforts I am talking about are the results of the basketball story and meeting with Greek representatives and some kids that run UL social media accounts. We will see if the new efforts work.

This guy was hired at some point after football season for that reason. He was in on the meeting with Maggard, the Dean and the Greeks.

The sad thing is my daughter just did freshman orientation a few weeks ago. I asked her if anyone spoke about getting involved and supporting athletics and she said no. That would be a great place for a few coaches and players to speak and ask for support. They did sing the fight song though. Well she did, she said no one else knew it.

Massive miss and a crazy abandonment. But what can one expect when the Admins in charge never went to games when they were students.

Freshmen orientation is how Utah went from a nothing burger student section to one of the most involved in the country in less than a decade.

100,000 student members since it started in 2002.

Fracking pathetic. The UP’s should be ashamed.
