I believe that was part of it. Too many people were continuing to get it wrong. I think the other part was a branding thing. There is no question, people love the "APP" or "APP State" branding both inside of Boone and out. I bet Fanof71 can touch on this as well. He and I lived in NC about the same time and I can assure you that the App and App State name has helped them build a pretty solid brand.

Have you thought about reaching out to the other sunbelt school newspaper football beat writers and see what they do, and/or make deal with each other to crash on each other's couches, home team brings visitor to dinner, get the lay of the land at each school, etc etc
