I did the sports beat at the Verm many years ago. Was a great place to learn, a great place to make mistakes and you can learn real quick whether it’s a path you want to choose.

Good luck..lot of life skills being developed either way!

100% agree, from yet another former Verm sports writer.

Honestly, my time as a writer was some of the best life lessons I got from college.

The Dean of Students called me at 10pm one time to yell at me for what I wrote. The SGA senate held a vote to kick me out of the senate for something I wrote.

I learned real fast to stick to my gut and always sniff out people’s motives. And that has served me very well since.

You will no longer see me on this site.
Which part of that paragraph is incorrect? I mean, other than the spelling on “bettor”. All else seems right to me.

Use “Louisiana” more than “Cajuns” and see heads explode.

Second to last paragraph of Louisiana v Florida State -

"Simply put, the Cajuns were outclassed against the ranked Florida State, from the opening kickoff until the clock hit triple zeros. The defense allowed over 250 rushing yards, and the offense was putrid. The Seminoles completely dominated the Cajuns, and I tip my hat to them. If you’re a sports better, you should have picked the ‘Noles to win by more than 24 points."

RaginPagin is a forum of Alumni, Fans and a stopping ground of officials of the University of Louisiana, and rightfully so. Wise of you to visit us but we are not a collection of un-wise. Your words of a Program which originated over 120 years ago do not reflect the honor we hold of our treasure in Acadiana.

I hope my words strengthen and harden your focus on the mastering of your craft.

    Swamp.
Get a fricken grip dude. You're the type to complain that we have no-one covering the cajuns then crap on a young guy looking to cover the cajuns and improve his work.

Day 1 update: I have raised $130 of my $2,000 goal. As always, a journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step. Thanks to all who have left positive messages, donated, and/or supported me in a multitude of ways.

    - Most importantly, Mrs. Carolyn Broussard (may she rest in peace) helped me improve my writing skills to get me to where I am today.
Kevin Foote left the DAily Advertiser for the Acadiana Advocate several years ago. He does a great job being the Cajuns beat writer for that publication, although the deadlines makes game day stories a little late. Cory Diaz is the Daily Advertiser writer for Cajuns football. He also covers Cajuns baseball after LSU WBB ends. Advertiser does not cover Cajuns basketball. Good luck in your effort. More coverage we receive the better and our students do not to know what is going on what out athletic efforts.

Dude, really? Who made you the gatekeeper here? There's always the option for YOU to leave.
