What's the deal with the student fees? If the money is used for student life and experience enrichment programs (athletics included) then what is the issue?
Under the current hamstrung system the students have to vote on fees.
The school is not shy about bringing up fee votes for the university but is very shy about bringing up fee votes for Athletics.
Ironically the administration banked heavily on Athletics to get fees "associated" with the master plan passed, but Athletics recieved none or very few of the proceeds.
Cajun kids don’t have suitcases . . .
Nor do they have fees . . .
Just doing some quick math...
We had a total of 15,219 students (12,950 undergrad & 2,269 graduate) enrolled for the Fall 2022 semester.
JMU's Revenue was $24,778,893 higher than ours.
Are you recommending we charge our students an additional $1,628 per year ($814 per semester) in student fees to close that gap?
Using only undergraduate student numbers: $1,913 per year ($957 per semester)
