Sitting on my mower for a couple hours today and I’m thinking, why does UL softball have so many players portaling out but not UL baseball?

More loyalty to UL and Coach Deggs than the softball players? Glasco being honest that certain ones don’t have a future here? Better teammates? Not as publicized?

Maybe all of the above. No doubt Coach Deggs seems to be building a culture within his program, i see all over twitter former SH players that loves the dude and that's what is going to take to keep players. I think the days of being loyal to a "program" is over and will be more about your "coach" and "teammates" (and of course NIL opportunities)

I believe most of the softball players portalling out were here for 2 years and had limited playing time . . . since we are young, all the players they could not beat are still there and will be there throughout their eligibility

It’s different for baseball as the players are more spread out and work while you wait is more of a palatable option . . .

All coaches are extremely honest when it comes to future playing time. Many of the players nationwide are transferring either for more playing time or to get closer to home.

Pitching staff size (in terms of percentage) between softball and baseball? Current baseball roster is 15 of 32 pitchers. Softball is 5 of 22. You have almost a full 2 deep roster for softball. Baseball is mostly a 3rd catcher, 4/5th outfielder and UT player.

IMO, better competition per say position wise for softball.
