Key stats so far this weekend. 4 walks, 1 hbp, 0 errors. We just won a series against a team with a winning record for the first time all year. We are talented and can be very good if we put it together. We are getting hot at the right time and I doubt anyone is looking forward to playing us in the tourney. Let’s finish strong and geaux win the damn thing.

All true. My point was that there’s a whole crew on here trashing the coaches and players for anything negative. And not even a game thread when things are going well.

To that point, Deggs deserves a ton a credit for sticking with guys that everyone was saying should be on the bench, myself included. Veillon has improved his numbers considerably. Nezuh has been really good in his recent outings. And Marusak has been on an All American level in the second half of the season.

First 26 games, Max was hitting .151. In the last 25, he’s hitting .378 with 6 HRs. That’s an incredible turn around.

To be fair, Higgs sitting on the bench the first half of the season doesn’t look good.

As far as the pitching goes, and it’s been discussed as nauseam, it’s been very hit or miss, just like the majority of teams across the country. But in the coaches’ defense, your opening night starter has missed time. Your #2 has barely pitched and is likely done for the season. And the same for your best bullpen arm. That’s tough to deal with.

As we all know, this team is capable of beating anyone, anywhere. Maybe they end the year on a crazy good run?

This team is coming together nicely. We said all year we could beat anyone and lose to anyone. Let’s hope the inconsistency will now turn into that consistency from now and through the SBC tournament.

Anyone who bet we’d win last year’s tournament after that TXST sweep would have been silly.

I think we’re playing a bit better currently than we were this time last year.

The bats are good. Defense great. Just need some dudes on the mound to stand up like they did in a massive way last year.

Win or lose tomorrow. USM will give us a final barometer. Easy to say, I guess.
