speaking of losing payout $…. check this out, this is from the 2014 bowls page…

    Number of bowl-ineligible teams: 47

† – Appalachian State (7–5), Georgia Southern (9–3, Sun Belt champions), and Old Dominion (6–6) were conditionally eligible based on win–loss record. However, under FCS-to-FBS transition rules, they are not eligible because enough teams qualified under normal circumstances.

so there was a provision that if not enough teams qualified the transitioning team could go, so why under that same provision did james madison not go this year vice, them using 5-7 teams to fill slots at last minute because not enough teams qualified?

How does the payout work? Does the winner get all of it? Do the teams split it?

Also, do we still share bowl payouts with our conference mates?

The value of tickets sold, is the payout.

UConn got taken to the poor house one year for not selling enough tickets to cover expenses. It was two digit mil payout on paper.

NCAA payouts are real money, and are shared.

if that happens as uconn should the debt also be split same way as profits among the conf mates?

also are coaches’ salary bonus for bowl considered a bowl expense

here is a crazy idea: buy the banner right away before submitting bowl expenses to conf for the split.

also when the contractor goes to hang the banner if they find “structural damage” that must be “renovated” to accommodate the banner, seems it should come out of the pre conf split $
