Amazing how our biggest bowl payout ever comes at the hands of a 6-6 season

    A) sunbelt needs to renegotiate bowl tie-ins, our champ needs to get someone elses champ in nola with a bigger payout
    B) pretty sure we only get that payout if we sell our allotment of tickets

You are correct in that the payout is tied to tickets sold. I have been informed our allotment is 7000. No idea if we can sell that many.

7k seems to be a familiar number this year. I’d be surprised if we sell our allotment.

Hehe I see what you did there

The fanbase determines the payout not the bowl organizers.

Their payout proclamation is more of a peak value statement.

To maximize payout, Louisiana Athletics should be flooding the Houston and North Louisiana markets with ways to buy tickets through UL in a generic fashion.

Since they are not even flooding the Acadiana market, I know this is a pipe dream.

Aside from the emails and social media, what else has been done to promote? Any print, local tv media, radio spots, community engagement? It's the holidays, there's multiple events going on, so the opportunity is there.

Now, now, let's not get ridiculous. They are "short-handed".

I seem to recall bowls paying a lower payout when a team was a replacement to the true tie-in, has this # been confirmed

speaking of losing payout $…. check this out, this is from the 2014 bowls page…

    Number of bowl-ineligible teams: 47

† – Appalachian State (7–5), Georgia Southern (9–3, Sun Belt champions), and Old Dominion (6–6) were conditionally eligible based on win–loss record. However, under FCS-to-FBS transition rules, they are not eligible because enough teams qualified under normal circumstances.

so there was a provision that if not enough teams qualified the transitioning team could go, so why under that same provision did james madison not go this year vice, them using 5-7 teams to fill slots at last minute because not enough teams qualified?
