Goodness, if BM has a decent season, does he have anymore god awful auto-renewals in his contract??? Do I need to cheer that we lose, basically?

No automatic renewal but it is extremely unlikely a coach will be let go with a conference championship in hand. That may make it difficult to attract a new coach of quality. So yes if a new coach is your priority, you don’t want the team to be successful. Of course that means you will be hoping that guys like Jordan Brown, Greg Williams jr, Jalen Dalcourt etc. experience failure they are working hard to avoid. Now I will not criticize if you feel that way as everyone sees things differently. The way you feel is the way you feel. However I don’t think most of our supporters actually hope guys who wear our uniform, work to earn their scholarship, and perform civic engagement duties want them to not be rewarded for their efforts.

BM is a decent basketball coach. But for what we are paying him, he is a ripoff. We can hire plenty of various people to run a SBC MBB team that in any average year is a middle of the road SBC team. Winning the SBC just means you were the best of a bunch of really bad basketball teams. Why do we pay so much for that? This conference has LOST ANY prestige that it used to have in the MBB world. It is a guaranteed one-bid league, prob earning a #16 seed, and at best MAYBE a #15 seed in some years.

The new teams added to the conference care about basketball. It is likely to improve as we go forward. Regardless glad you clarified that you are not really pulling against the guys who wear our uniform.

Not that I am aware of. My guess is he plans on winning a championship and returning next season. Regardless of the next season part,I want my coaches and players planning for success. No chance you can achieve that without envisioning it first

Let me see if I can decipher this mystery. It sounds as though, you are relaying that for the coach to be removed the team has to suck? Or for all 500 people that still attend games, have their hard work go unrewarded by keeping a guy most people have no desire to support around for who knows how long? TIA

Meanwhile, the conference that used to be lackluster in football is now really really good in football and baseball
