While we are at it, we should make circled area of the Cajundome club seating. It's time to put curtains up and close the 3rd level for Cajuns basketball games.

Suggested that to someone involved with the dome years ago. Can’t, blocks the line of sight from the suites. Yes, people still use them for MBB, I check when I go.

Blows my mind that the city did such a major renovation of that arena and didn't include mid-level suites along the side court.

If anyone is still on the fence about what the capacity for Cajun Field should be, we just had the 2 most successful years in football history, and closed it out with the first ever Sunbelt championship game in Lafayette, with the chance to win our first outright conference title in 50 years. 31K. That game should have been 40+ no question. Afternoon kick. No other team in the state playing. If we can’t get break the attendance record for that, it will NEVER happen

This was in the original renovation plans, but it was eventually cut out due to costs. Maybe Turbine can dig up the old rendering.

The original rendering had a line of suites directly above the upper walkway.

"Afternoon kick" is a negative not a positive.

I have been saying this for decades; "This isn't Nebraska" Louisiana Saturday Nights is the only tradition that has a chance.

Anything else is an attendance zap.

On a personal level I have worked almost every saturDAY for 40 years.

I spent the better part of 15 years all by myself trying to make this point on this damn site. Lower capacity is better for so many reasons. And I kept yelling about it as Farmer wasted millions building more seats in the south end zone for fans that didn’t exist.

Can’t consistently sell all the suites now. Would be foolish to eliminate seating that for non basketball events sell, such as major concerts.

Exposes the focus away from Louisiana Athletics.

Even so, a shortage of seats for non Louisiana Athletic events would drive early demand for those events.
