Thanks Zeebart21.
5-5? 4-6? Cajun is 5-3 hopefully 6-3 by Saturday evening.
Beal must be really good, if we are going to get him. I am still try to catch up.
IMO-
I guess UL still have the same kind of problem when I was there as the U of Slow Learner or was it U Standin Line. I'll bet you lots of students does not know or care yet, about the history of the name change, I didn't know until my 2nd year at UsL. Students have to know first, if you don't know exactly what you want to be call, then how do you expect me to call your name correctly. That's my 3.14150... cents worths.
PS - Wish I could be at the game (650 miles away)
Just googled Ragin Cajuns. This is the first entry. I thought it was pretty funny.

When people ask me where I went to school, I say The University of Louisiana, then add Ragin Cajuns. If I have a UL cap on and someone asks, I respond the same way. If they ask is it Monroe or Lafayette, I say Lafayette, but once I say Ragin Cajuns, there is usually no question.
Look, we will likely always be the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I don't care about that. It is the athletic reference I am concerned about, the national recognition as Louisiana and UL, and the ability to buy UL gear without the Lafayette. The law requires UL to call itself UL at Lafayette. NO ONE ELSE is required to do so. All of Lafayette including all media outlets call us UL and Louisiana. The athletic department is starting to use Louisiana and UL almost exclusively, but not fully yet. I don't know why we can't ask the national media to call us UL and Louisiana. THEY are not bound by any law to use Lafayette. And, how are we violating the law if we ask THEM to call US Louisiana and UL? Some may not choose to do so, like the Advocate. But, ESPN, USA Today and other media will call us us what WE say we want to be called. That is all Nevada Reno did when they decided to be called Nevada. They are still officially the University of Nevada Reno. UNLV and Nevada are similar to ULM and Louisiana. UL Monroe is now locked into ULM. It sounds great and works for them like UAB or UCF or UTEP or UNLV or UCLA. We are in the midst of the greatest national attention for sports that we have ever received. It is imperative that we use this time to establish ourselves as Louisiana. If the athletic department is doing it predominantly now (but not fully), why not just go the next step? We don't have accept winning instead of the name and hope the name eventually changes. Capture the name NOW while we are hot and it will stick forever.
