Mitchell wanted a chance to come home again. The St. Martinville native will get the opportunity next season at UL.
Mitchell signed a national letter of intent with the Cajuns on Wednesday night, the first day of the NCAA's early signing period. The 6-foot-9, 247-pound center now plays at Greensboro Day School in North Carolina.
"I just wanted my family to be able to see me play again," Mitchell said. "This is a chance for me to come back home."
