Of course if you're taking over a failed program you should get a decent grace period. Brodhead was in that circumstance when he took over. He's way beyond the grace period. If you taking over a very successful program pretty much near it's zenith your name is Glasco, but under very steep circumstances and departures of some of your best talent. He coulda gotten a grace period. Instead he performed at a very high level. Our soccer coach took over a disaster yet set historic highs.
Bobby Big Fish took over a program in disarray but not devoid of talent. Maybe his first year was his best. I wouldn't keep him under any circumstance in the future short of regular season championship, tournament championship, and a very competitive game in the NCAA. Goodness gracious he's will be starting his second decade of mediocrity in the 20/21 season.
