Like I said I don't know what Dr. Maggard is thinking in regards to when to make a coaching change. I was just making a guess that he would be back next season due to the injuries this year and I assumed most would agree with that prediction. I have absolutely no inside information one way or another on that. Obviously, I could be wrong on my prediction. For a change to happen lots of money would have to be offered to pay the buyout. For all I know those dollars have been made available. I do know the staff is acting as if they will be back. In his press conference earlier this week, Coach Marlin said coaches spent time on the road recruiting this week due to no mid week game. Most of you would expect that to be the case but I can tell you for certain that was not the case at the end of the Bustle tenure in football. Those coaches shut down their recruiting efforts in early November of 2010. I know that because some members of that staff have told me that directly.

I'm curious what he is recruiting? Class of 2022? He's full right now.

You are really grasping at straws now. No way he should ever get another extension unless he makes the NCAA tournament.

A coach should only be extended if he is being looked at by other schools or if his/her loss would set back your program. Coach Marlin is neither. If you're not gonna fire him, then UL should let his contract expire, have him move on or renegotiate.

I don't know the details of the recruiting efforts. My guess is that there is a possibility one new recruit comes in the spring meaning someone on team moves on. That is not unusual and happens at almost every school these days. My guess is that bulk of efforts are looking at people they can sign in November. Maybe looking at people beyond that. Recruiting is something that never ends unless a staff knows they are moving on.
