Did we play last night? Against who? Did we win? I doubt it but it is worth asking.

    LOL

Being at the game last night, this whole thing is just sad overall. The guys playing now are playing hard and are still trying. Unfortunately, they're just not good enough at the moment. We are playing with the 2nd string team.

But the main kicker is that outside of a few diehards, the fans aren't showing up. A lot of them have tuned out and written basketball off. The other night I saw fans on social media talking about how it's "now baseball season" after the national championship was over. We are in the heart of conference play, and people aren't even acknowledging it. That's where I think we are in dangerous territory. But like basinbear stated, regardless of that, I will still be there to support the players because they deserve our support.

Good post. No surprise about fan support. That would be same everywhere considering the circumstances. The last three games we have put a D2 team on the court. I go to support the guys as they are still giving effort as you said. Game plan last night was also good considering situation. Zone was their only choice. UTA hit some mid range shots in the first half which many teams struggle with. Second half they got hot from three which is not their forte. Offensively the Cajuns were fine in the first half but went cold in second half as shots started coming up short. That is a sign of tired legs. Cedric Russell had that happen a few times. Credit the kid for sucking it up as he is obviously playing hurt. Strange seeing a Cajun game in which zone is played for 40 minutes and a slower pace is employed. On a normal Cajuns team goal is to average in the 80’s and zone is rarely used. Coach Marlin is not a fan of zone in the slightest. Often times in the past assistances recommended staying with it a little longer when employed but as soon as opponent hit a couple of threes we got out of it. Strange circumstances causing strange things to be seen on court. I expect more of same until some guys come back. Even then it may take them a couple of games to get back in swing of things. PJ Hardy experienced that last night as he was obviously out of rhythm due to missing so many games. Players and coaches have to keep working and block out distractions. Fans however can see this season may be lost at this stage.
