Two things about that thread stood out to me.

1. They already know what the person who guaranteed that Napier was the next coach is going to say happened to save face and it is fantastically plausible ... until Napier doesn't take the Baylor job.

2. Fan board threads on coaching hires (and most topics) are remarkably and eerily similar. If I was back in school and majoring in psychology, it would be a topic for a paper or even a thesis.

They just spin his words. When he said that the wasn't a candidate for the job, some stated that how could he be a candidate when he's got the job. lol. If that was the case, then all of these other coaches that are supposedly lined up to interview and are interviewing for the job are not too bright. Why would you waste your time if you knew that the position has been filled? The university is just trying to make it look good. Really? And I love how they keep justifying why BN keeps saying that he's not taking the job because he doesn't want the media to leak it out and distract the kids from their game. lol. So talking about it on social media is not leaking? I think that the kids can read. lol.

remember this is moo state were talking about, its in the middle of nowhere, both it and olmiss are in the delta, theres hardly any decent hotels in Starkville, the only school in Mississippi in a decent town is usm. So yes their fans are crazy you have to be crazy to live in the delta.

Here’s my thing...if it was a done deal, SOME verified writer would have leaked it by now. Even ONE real deal writer would have said something somewhere. Sure it’s Moo State, but it’s an SEC West head coaching job. I keep repeating myself, but you just think something would have been legitimately leaked by now by a real deal reporter. Not these nobodies on twitter and the Moo State message board.

Miss State's AD said don't believe anything unless it comes from him or something similar, which is what Maggard said. Meanwhile someone over there has been pumping the rumor that Napier is the coach....just like someone at UL was pumping that Pry was going to be our coach. Napier is their AD's smoke screen, so he can search in peace and get the guy he wants.

That's a theory, at least as to why the Napier rumor won't die, even when Napier shoots it, stomps on the body than lights it on fire.

The guy is Bert Stare that is posting on Elitedawgs.com. Ironically he has been a member since April of 2013, but only has 85 posts. I would tell you that at least 10-15 of those have been in one single thread that he started called....."It's Napier...will be formally announced Tuesday." He is also very active in a thread called "Can we calm the _____ down??" Which is basically the same thread as the first one. From what I can see from his 85 posts none of them have come before the Napier thing. He has swore that if he is wrong then he will never be heard from again. Which is quite interesting since he was never heard from before. So in their eyes, no big loss.

I don't know what information he has, but he claims he has inside information from the Louisiana side of things. He is 100% sure that Billy Napier has already signed the contract and it will be announced on Tuesday. Either he is really close to someone (he claims it is someone in Billy Napier's camp), or his is just blowing smoke up the arsses of Miss. State Fans.

I don't know who this guy is or what he might actually know, but he is beating the drum loudly that he is in the know of all that is going on with Billy Napier and Miss State.

Very few others are as confident on their board as Bert Stare. The rest are really hopeful that it is him.
