Agree about the coaching tree he came from.
Not what I am saying at all. The premise I was answering was that because he had ONLY won ten games once and has "NEVER" had a signature win as head coach that it was crazy for Miss. St. to consider him for the job.

My point was and is that many other factors are significant in that decision making process. I'm just not buying that at the top of an A.D.'s checklist is "signature wins". They certainly don't hurt, but it is far from being some type of litmus test for head coaches.

Of course there are other factors, no argument there. I’m saying that more often than not, a signature win or two if at the top of the list and giving 3 or 4MM to a coach who has been a head coach for 2 years is bold AF when you considering facts mentioned.

Like I said, if had won game one and possibly even just beat App we’d be discussing a different coach at this time. Hell, If LL doesn’t throw a pick 6 on the first possession in the superdome we might be talking about other things.

Saw this on elitedawgs and thought it was pretty interesting. Kind of confirms what we all know about Napier, and why he so sought after right now:

”So, I have good friend that is very similar to Dave Bartoo & uses his spread sheets make a good bit of money on betting games & even does some college football consulting on the side.

This afternoon I spoke with him on the phone asked him, analytically speaking, how good is Napier?

He told me he'd give a call back & let me know how Napier analytically compares to the best G5 coaches in recent college football history that went on to power 5 jobs:

Urban Meyer at Utah is the #1 G5 coach of all time, Norvell is #2, & Tommy Bowden at Tulane is 3rd.

Upon getting a power 5 job, analytically (don't ask me what all goes into this) Napier will be the 4th best G5 to power 5 coach in the past 20 years ahead of such names as Urban Meyer at Bowling Green, Tom Herman at Houston, Brady Hoke at SD State, Dino Babers at Bowling Green, significantly better than Neal Brown at Troy, Dave Doeren at Northern Illinois, & bunch of other guys.

Point is, this is a chance for MSU to hire what on paper looks like an elite coach & he fits our culture.”

Well, he is an elite coach, and fits our cULture just fine.

I wonder if anybody from Mississippi State will be there?

For the game on tv, not at the game.

Then again, one of the clowns on Elite Dogs (ED) claims the MSU plane was tracked to Charlotte and back, UNCC's coach in play now.

When MSU announces anyone but BN as their coach, can't wait for that spin. Kind of appropriate they're in tornado alley.

Seems like every MSU fan would want to make the super short drive to see their next coach in action, in person.

If that's what they really believe that is.

Oh, that is what they very much believe. One guy has posted ‘for a fact’ how much much money Napier himself has been offered and received, as well the amounts that he has been promised for staff, new positions created, etc., etc. And he claims that this is all from his ‘Louisiana’ source....not moo state.

Yep. It’s all very similar to everything that happened on this board before Napier was announced.

    https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/mi...urns-down-job/

First one shows the top 5 candidates for MSU. One is not Napier because he declined the job.

Next one says he declined the job.

    Either he is staying?

Inside Baseball from Napier and camp and is going to accept the job ?

Someone is trolling MSU fans pretty hard?

I am going to go with the first and third one .
