Saw this on elitedawgs and thought it was pretty interesting. Kind of confirms what we all know about Napier, and why he so sought after right now:
”So, I have good friend that is very similar to Dave Bartoo & uses his spread sheets make a good bit of money on betting games & even does some college football consulting on the side.
This afternoon I spoke with him on the phone asked him, analytically speaking, how good is Napier?
He told me he'd give a call back & let me know how Napier analytically compares to the best G5 coaches in recent college football history that went on to power 5 jobs:
Urban Meyer at Utah is the #1 G5 coach of all time, Norvell is #2, & Tommy Bowden at Tulane is 3rd.
Upon getting a power 5 job, analytically (don't ask me what all goes into this) Napier will be the 4th best G5 to power 5 coach in the past 20 years ahead of such names as Urban Meyer at Bowling Green, Tom Herman at Houston, Brady Hoke at SD State, Dino Babers at Bowling Green, significantly better than Neal Brown at Troy, Dave Doeren at Northern Illinois, & bunch of other guys.
Point is, this is a chance for MSU to hire what on paper looks like an elite coach & he fits our culture.”
Well, he is an elite coach, and fits our cULture just fine.
