UL's Danny Farquhar and adviser Roy Smith need a few extra days to reach a contract agreement with the Toronto Blue Jays. Farquhar, drafted in the 10th round by the Blue Jays two weeks ago, was optimistic on Monday the two sides would come to terms soon. The junior pitcher had hoped to sign by today. Danny Farquhar enjoyed his three years as a pitcher at UL, but the Toronto Blue Jays made him an offer he could not refuse. Farquhar, drafted in the 10th round by the Blue Jays on June 6, agreed to terms on a contract with the team on Friday afternoon. The two sides reached an agreement exactly three weeks after the franchise took the junior right-hander with the 309th pick of this year's Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. I heard that he was in the New York Penn-League and playing for the Aurburn Doubledays. Checked the roster and he is not listed yet.
