Question: who on the 14 team would you have sat for 15 to 20 games waiting for Cantrelle to get to this level.

    I'll hang up and listen.
If we are correct about possibly playing Hayden in the outfield or at 1st base. Would have ended up being a better option long term then Chase Compton and/or Dylan Butler and remember D-But was out for about 14 games that year with injury. He could have platooned at 1st/3rd and OF. I know he is not the prototypical 1st basemen, but remember this Evan Powell played in 29 games started 14 and batted .250, Ryan Wilson played in 48 games, started 23 and batted .246, Nick Thurman played in 32 games started 13 and batted .222, Greg Davis played in 37 games started 25 and batted .314, Kyle Clement played in 24 games started 7 and batted .333.

Hayden seems to be a better hitter right now than those guys were in 2014, all were backups. but played in a total of 170 games combined and started a total combined of 82 games. Could Hayden not filled in somewhere for anyone of those guys.

Not hitting under 200 and in a year like this year making 6 errors in his first games of the season, which is his body of work. He was fortunate the last two years that there were no other options in the coaches eyes and he eventually performed. Not quite sure he has that leash in 14.

Cantrelle was struggling with his batting average early this year, but had reached base in EVERY game and was stealing bases like crazy. Not to mention, again, he’s supremely talented. You play your best talent. Period. Which is why the way Lott was treated previously is so maddening.
Like I said he could have filled in for any of the following guys at any point during the season

Dylan Butler 54 games 45 Starts
Chase Compton 65 games 54 starts
Kyle Clement 24 games 7 starts
Greg Davis 37 games 25 starts
Evan Powell 29 games 14 starts
Ryan Wilson 48 games 23 starts
Nick Thurman 32 games 13 starts
Joe Robbins 3 games 0 starts
Also, Tyler Girourd missed 20 starts due to injury and 12 games overall

Where could I have found a spot for Hayden, look above. Also Caleb Adams did not start 5 games that year, Blake Trahan missed 1 start that year, Ryan Leonards missed 3 starts that year, Seth Harrison missed 2 starts that year, Chase Compton missed 14 starts that year.

I think I could find plenty of spots for Hayden.

Hypotheticals are fun. Everybody gets to win. Let’s go get to 3 and 0 tonight. He is in my lineup and batting in the 1 hole. Geaux Cajuns.

And it’s worse than that. Yes, he has now gotten his chance and has definitely not performed.

I'm thinking that when Kasuls comes back to second, Camp may have played his way into a shot at third.

Kasuls started and played 2nd last night, O'neal was still on 3rd. But I do agree with you Coach is giving O'Neal every chance he can at 3rd, unfortunately he has not been able to turn it around.

The crappy thing is that O'Neal started the season 7-27 .260, since then is 0-32 in his last 32 AB's.

Meanwhile Camp is 3-15 on the season, but 0-6 in his last 6 AB's. It shows you how much we miss Windham at 3rd.

He was only hitting .250, but was a rock there, 0 errors on the season. The advantage Camp gives you if he becomes the 3B is that he has an OBA of .400 while O'Neal is .188 and even the before mentioned Windham was only .283.

Did you notice his errors almost vanished when they put Windham at third? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
