We are so irrelevant in basketball, it’s not even debatable. But hey, at least we recruit nice kids...

So the 2019 regular season and tournament champion pulls a 14th seed.

That’s how awful this league is perceived to be. And how awful it actually is.

Hey, they still haven’t announced the teams the teams that will receive a invite to the prestigious Vegas16.

Chew on this a little while: we had 4 conference losses to teams with RPI worse than 200. If we win all 4, we are the undisputed #1 seed, win 3 of 4 and we are at worst a 2 seed. I certainly don't think it is too much to ask to be undefeated vs the dregs of Division 1.

Agree, except not perceived. The bottom of the belt is that bad, and on any given night the top team can lose. GAST dropped 5 games in league. 11th place Troy took them out once this year.

With all due respect, your expectations are just not good enough. There's nothing wrong with 4th on rare occasions. This is the SBC expectations should be top two. But that's my view.

I’d never hire a guy who consistently finishes 4th or worse.

We should be building a program that wins the SBC regular season and does it on a fairly consistent clip. If we do that, the postseason and NCAA appearances will follow. Its easier to recruit to a winner and build a program that does rather than just get to the NCAA tournament every so often and lose in the first round.

The apathy is the biggest concern.
Outside of the social club, the gluttons for punishment and the generation that remembers Jesse’s teams, the public at large (including students) could give a fuhck about this basketball program.

Another thing that’s funny is how mad y’all get at Charlie for posting numbers and facts. You can complain about his persistence, but the man is telling the truth. Numbers don’t lie. Next year will be a decade with only one tourney appearance. Twenty years of purgatory. Twenty years of irrelevance.

Reason is he gave up posting here for Lent and will also try to limit my visits here in general. He also had some medical procedures done on his legs and has one more coming up next week.

I think we can all wish him for the best.

I do wish him a speedy recovery. The reason I asked is because of the timing that he went silent on Ragin’ Pagin is very convenient.

Hopefully no RP for lent = less stress = faster recovery.

That's right.
They take on Houston, the #3 seed, whose record is only 31-3!
They don't stand a chance.
They are ranked 121st in the NCAA, so a 14th seed might be generous.
Houston was ranked 4th, yet they got a #3 seed.
They probably feel sighted. Wouldn't want to face them.
