But at the NCAA level where the disparity of talent from the top to the bottom of a roster may be even greater it’s not fair to mention an injury to Gant or Marquetti with out it being labeled as making excuses?

In one breath you say the Pelicans will make the playoffs as a sixth seed and in the other that the coach and GM will be fired. Seems to be pretty incomsistent positions. Please help with that rationale?

Dell Demps has has AD for 6 seasons. He has yet to build a roster around him. No matter what the results of this season are he will be canned as soon as AD signs elsewhere.

I think you may have something at least with Demps. Ms. Benson is going to want to do anything they can to keep AD for next year. By all accounts, he is not willing to sign the super max extension. They may want to make a change at GM and bring in someone who will be willing to go out and be pretty bold in making some changes or someone who can evaluate talent in preparation for potential draft picks that may come our way with a trade.

They may want to make a change at GM and bring in someone who will be willing to go out and be pretty bold in making some changes or someone who can evaluate talent in preparation for potential draft picks that may come our way with a trade.

His agent will push him to sign more 3 year type contracts. Staying away from SuperMax deals so he has more flexibility to go somewhere that can put a championship team together.

They can but 6th place is pushing it. The Pelicans have never done real well against the top teams in the West even though they did sweep Portland last year in the first round. The Lakers and Rockets are two teams on the rise and have stars missing with injury but when they come back, they will move up the rankings. That only leaves San Antonio IMO. That's the team we have to catch, possibly the Clippers. I don't know if 6th is doable at this time. They will need to start playing like they did to start the season and do it for a good stretch of time.

I think they can. The off-season trade AD to the Celtics for Tatum and 3 first rounders. Hope you land a pick where you can get Zion.

The standard should be higher for NBA coaches.
