Nobody hogged minutes. Clearly their backups weren’t up to the task. Example of that are LilRock, and two games later Arlington.

Looking over this damned SBC schedule? Is there a West and East? We play the Texas schools once at their place. We play South, and Troy once in Lafayette, everyone else twice.
Currently our prime opponents in the West appears to be TxSt if there’s a West. Sure would like to get them in Lafayette to end the regular season.
That’s where I’m at. We’re not going to dominate the SBC in every sport. With limited resources, if I had my biased choice, we’d hammer our opponents in football, softball, baseball and track. The rest of the sports for me...eh.
But I think for many of the posters here who complain about Marlin, his salary has something to do with it. If the university did take the philosophy of “let’s win in these sports and not worry about MBB” and paid Marlin “only” $150k a year, you wouldn’t see as much complaining about the coaching.
That’s not the case, though. He’s making half a million a year. For that price, I think there’s a lot of Cajun fans expecting more results.
I don't agree that it's an either or question.
One game in the NCAA covers the Big Fish salary. For an individual school in the SBC there's no payday like an NCAA trip. If you win it doubles, triples as long as you win. Bowl games except for the New Year Six, a truly long shot requires your fan base to support, baseball offers little in post season dollars.
Finally, and this is one of my pet peeves about Marlin. He's not leading any charge to gain money besides what UL provides and that roundballer coaches luncheon. Virtually every coach has one of those boosters luncheon.
I hope Marquetti's injury isn't bad and he recovers quickly. GWS
He wins 58 of his games. He’d absolutely be fired if he won much less over a protracted timeline. I sure don’t think mediocrity is 50/50, but that’s just me.
119-64 over the last 5+ seasons is 65%. Once again, disappointing to us fans, but still not mediocre.
Ron Hunter is 117-64 over the last 5+ seasons. Difference is he has won big games and is seen as the premier program in Sun Belt.
He doesn’t have a winning record with anybody that matters, top 150. That’s my minimum. You can enjoy your bottom 200 wins all you want.
