We couldn’t get 20,000 on a Saturday with temps in the 80s and not a cloud in the sky. You aren’t sniffing 10,000 on thanksgiving day.

And now you want to compare our hypothetical attendance to two elite P5 programs.

You are falsely assuming attendance would drop based solely on the day.

If that were true it would apply to any program, anywhere, any status.

Fact is their Thanksgiving day attendance experienced a boost and was the 2nd best attendance ever between the two teams.

Same would hold true for UL.

why don’t you just compare us to the cowboys? We don’t have the fans, they do. Your example means absolutey nothing to our situation. We can’t get our season ticket holders to show up, LSU season ticket holders can give theirs away then those people give them away and then those people sell them to people who go. Like comparing apples to pork roast.

In this case each team is only compared to themselves.

No matter how poorly you think of UL's fanbase, all external data shows there would be an increase in fan interest.

If we played on thanksgiving I'd hope the university would give all 1500 people in attendance a pork roast and an apple for their troubles. I know our entire group would not be there, all the hunters won't be there. People who travel or take family vacations won't be there.

The people who leave at Thanksgiving aren't from here. Less likely they ever attend.

There are more coming home into Acadiana than leaving. Bigger chance of their enjoying a game.

Exactly and home games on Saturday after thanksgiving are horribly attended.

My group hardly ever misses and certainly never the entire group..usually 1 or 2 here of there..thanksgiving Thursday the tents wouldn’t even get setup.

It would be the worst attended game year in and year out. We don’t have the fans.

What if a guy is from here but his wife's parents live in Houston and they go to Houston for Thanksgiving? You speak like you have all the data to back up that we would have a sellout by putting homecoming game on Thanksgiving day because LSU and Texas A&M pack over 100,000 in Kyle Field on Thanksgiving night.

The school already moves games around for umpteen reasons, and the reasons people travel are just as varied.

I don't know anyone who predicted sellout, certainly not me.

I'm just spit balling with the knowledge that the everyday factors that affect other schools attendance in a positive or negative way, would effect UL as well.

We just had a homecoming game on a Saturday with absolutely beautiful conditions...and only 18,000 showed up. Give them the excuse of it being Thanksgiving Day and more people will stay home.

But keeping living in fantasy world over there Turbine. Keep thinking we have the fanbase of LSU and Texas A&M that will go to a football game on Thanksgiving Day. Those people prioritize football over anything else. We have a fan base that prioritizes other things over football.
