    I’m not 100 percent sure, but I do think sharing accounts for books may be illegal.

    It’s clear that this story is exaggerated. Publisher mad because people are sharing, so it marked up price on electronic version. Regular version price didn’t go up.

    No thats for the E-book version you will always have access to it .

    Do you know this for a fact??? I'm not buying it.

    MANY textbooks today are electronic and there are multiple ways to protect them. Certainly can be taken advantage of but why this one book? If the publishers answer was to create an outrageous price for the online version then it only shows they are incapable of staying current with technology.

    Actually that’s not exactly what the university said. They’re suggesting that they wanted to discourage the use of the online book for the benefit of the students. Apparently there’s something lacking in the on line version.

    You may be right, they’re simply trying to keep down book sharing, but again that’s not what’s being pushed as a reason.

    I would venture to say that NO level 201 book is worth $1000

    I still have E-books from when I was in school maybe it changed but i have my Calc & history book on a USB
