Why would Riser leave a head coaching position to be a hitting coach somewhere else? I get it's a step up in programs, but not a huge step.

I have no info just thinking out loud. Maybe coach has told him that he only wants to coach a couple of more years and that riser will be the coach when he leaves.

Riser was one of the three finalists for the head coaching job at RICE. If someone looks at stats to discredit him, that's pretty shallow.

But I don't think it's him. Mainly because he just announced two assistant hires today.

I throw 6 figures at a coach that has shown that his teams can compete at the highest level and can contend for national championships. This program should be above hiring SLC coaches to be assistants.

There’s one guy out there that has been at SEC schools and has been a successful hitting coach. We just need to take a chance on him.
