Thread: Status Quo or Changes

Riser was one of the three finalists for the head coaching job at RICE. If someone looks at stats to discredit him, that's pretty shallow.

But I don't think it's him. Mainly because he just announced two assistant hires today.

Anyone care to explain what kind of upward mobility he has at SLU? In other words, is he paralying that gig into a head coaching position at Maryland, for example?

Slightly more than JT. But is he a coach looking to leave the Northshore? He’s a NOLA born and bred guy.

And I don’t see him as a guy we throw 6 figures at to be a hitting coach.

Riser makes a salary of $63,000 / yr.

You don’t throw 6 figures at a current head coach that took his team to a regional, produced an all American, and competed against much better program on a nightly basis with a shoe string budget and marginal talent?

Riser should be a softball pitching coach.

I throw 6 figures at a coach that has shown that his teams can compete at the highest level and can contend for national championships. This program should be above hiring SLC coaches to be assistants.

There’s one guy out there that has been at SEC schools and has been a successful hitting coach. We just need to take a chance on him.

Is it a result of being coached by Ron Polk at Hyannis? Which is pretty cool btw

His contract from 2017-2020 was a salary of $63K. Perhaps they renegotiated but the ink is barely dry. Doesn’t matter really.
