Looked beat up. May need more than 1 week though.

What was "well said" just second guessed your coach. You need to remember... this is the coach that won 4 bowl games in a row! How dare you second guess him. How dare you.

I'd find it odd that he had anything more than a sprained knee... and was still able to play on it in the second half. I could see him recouping pretty quick if it's just a sprain. But I'd game plan for this weekend with Ray and Nunez. His play this weekend (again if it's only a sprain) will probably be limited if any. Even if he's ok to play... I'd prepare around starting one of the others. We are probably going to need a backup to get us through this season. That wasn't a dirty hit... and it wasn't anything that couldn't happen 100 more times.

Agree. Davis looked great early. But his mechanics went out the window after the injury and it showed.

Yesterday should have solidified the decision of moving Dion Ray to another position. Jordan should have been pulled after the injury. Jordan is our immediate future. We have a long season ahead. No need to risk more injury or sacrafice the gameplan due to his injury. Especially when it was working for a half!

If the coaches dont trust Ray to throw the ball and they cant develop a scheme to get him 1 on 1 in space, most others would consider this a wasted scholarship. Yesterday we needed a backup QB, with experiece and they refused to put him in. Thats an indictment on HUD.

Be a grown up and tell the kid, develop your passing game or switch positions. If he does not like it, show him the door.

I'm very impressed with JD... in many respects. The knee injury was a bummer. He obviously couldn't complete his throw motion with putting weight on a bent left knee. I wasn't surprised we kept him in for a couple more drives... but once it was apparent that his passing was suffering... much less his ability to scramble or run... I was surprised that we left him in. Surely the staff wasn't thinking we'd come back with his diminished skills. It's tough to stick Ray or Nunez in against A&M... but we were risking greater injury to JD. I think I would have opted to go with a Ray/Ragas backfield at that point... possibly throw A&M's defense off a little... and if not try a comeback of sorts... at least try and give our defense a breather. Hindsight... but that's what I was thinking after the fact.

I don't think he'd be a starter at any other position either. If you read one of the articles just as of late, they explained how Ray is not a "defensively minded" athlete. He's all offense. But we don't need him at RB, he's not a WR... so he's a backup QB. I don't think it's a stubborn situation. It's a fact of not having other skills to beat out the other athletes. I do agree that it says something that with JD hobbled (passing accuracy, scrambling, and running) we kept him in the full length.

I do wonder why Nunez was not brought into the game in the second half. From what I saw in the spring game and one scrimmage, he is more than adequate. In fact, he may be a better scrambler than Davis.
