Delegate and inspire is my recommendation, if it's not to late.
    Bobby Bowden.

Hype and energy guy who put a school on the map, hired great assistants and got out of their way. Now, he has a statue of himself in front of that school's stadium.

Perhaps instead of firing Hud, we need to convince someone else to hire him. Can someone make a Hud hype video and dossier and send it to all athletic programs?

"Hype" and "Energy" only works long term and over time if on-field results reflect continued success! If the success goes away, "Hype" and "Energy" alone will eventually make the coach go away! This is where UL apparently is at this point in time.

Does anyone think that if Hud completely got out of the way, of all of his coaches, that he has any chance to pump out this sinking ship?

Only one way to find out...

What Lucas did last year when he had carte blanche was a football miracle timing wise. Doing it again in-season would be an even greater feat.

So o answer your Q, I doubt it, but it would give Hud the best scenario to start pumping.

Problem is that control freaks usually panic more when things don't go as planned and things just continue downhill. They do not know how to let go and trust things.

Maybe not but you are hired as the head coach and everything falls on your shoulders anyhow..right? I'd much rather my coach be too involved than say...a Ricky Bustle who didn't even put on headphones during crucial times in the game to see what his coaches were calling. I don't think that, as a head coach, you can truly afford to not be involved in every aspect of your team.

While I agree everything falls on your shoulders...you cannot micromanage every single aspect of the game. You have to have some level of trust in the coaches you have on staff. If you don't trust the coaches then they should not be on your staff.

It's like this. A micromanager is not necessarily a terrible thing all of the time. It's just that our guy micromanages with a monkey wrench in his hand.
