Recruiting Discussion
Complete list of 2005 verbal commitmentsLOUISIANA La. - If commitment numbers mean anything, the University of Louisiana football team should be well stocked in the secondary for years to come.
The Ragin' Cajuns got their sixth commitment from a defensive back and their 14th overall Thursday when cornerback Arthur Stubblefield of Aldine Eisenhower High in Houston gave head coach Rickey Bustle a verbal pledge.
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound Stubblefield played quarterback for Aldine Eisenhower the last two seasons after starting at cornerback as a sophomore. He is projected as a corner in the Cajuns' defensive scheme.
"I won't have any problems adjusting to that," said Stubblefield, who also returned kickoffs for much of his career. "They said they wanted to put me at corner, and I'm fine with that."
Stubblefield visited the UL campus last weekend and said he would not take other visits. He canceled a scheduled visit to Oklahoma State.
