So much for all the preseason hype around our strong/deep pitching staff. I know the weather sucked, but that was pathetic. What a way to blow a win

Southern Miss is not ranked. Of course I'm happy about the series win. But it should have been a sweep. Very disappointing game. Offense gets 11 runs and we can't close it out with our deep pitching staff. So many opportunities to win this game

Would be nice if we had a shortstop that could at least make contact. How many times this year have they struck out with a runner on third and one out?

This issue dates back to the beginning of last season.

I'm upbeat.. Would I prefered a shut out? Hell Yea. But considering how our bats have come along we still not a perfect team but its gonna be ok. Put this bad loss behind us and get ready to kick some green weenie AZZ. Were a work in progress and our younger guys will come along. We all have seen this before. About game 30 we ll be at full stride. 2 good series wins in a row is nothing that kills good beer!!!

On to next week. The Tulane game is critical. Win that and you should go 4-0 on the week. Hogan should give us a shot in NOLA.

It's also inparative that we don't stub out toe again st Saint Peters. That will be a very very very bad loss at home.

This team will be fine. They made uncharacteristic mistakes. The bats are coming around. I am concerned with Guillory. Two consecutive poor starts. Does Marks move back into the Sunday starter role?

Agreed. Just playing them and sweeping kills us.

It sucks to give games away. Being beaten is one thing, but giving games away is just nauseating. Execution in critical moments has got to improve.

The bullpen has been disappointing. 10 games in, but I expected more quality pitching from the bullpen overall. Another sloppy Sunday. This group will need to find their killer instinct if they want to be taken seriously in June.

Hunter Kasuls, IMO, needs to sit and watch for a while. He has the tools, he has the ability, but it's just not happening right now.

Any update on Colton Schmidt?
