We had put up 11 runs on 15 hits at that junction in the game, and izzie particularly had hit the ball hard in every at bat today.
With one of the fastest runners on the team at 3rd and the best bunter on the team at the plate. I make that same call every time.

Sun Belt currently 72-67. Better than a couple weeks ago but not as good as last year. Conference finished 148-125... So at this point (about half of all NC games played, conference should be about 12-13 games above 500 to match last year's pace.
Sun Belt is 72-67 for a .5180 WP.

However, for our purposes, the Sun Belt is 66-63 (.5116), with a .5098 OWP contribution to the Cajuns' RPI. This .5098 is low ... need to bring it up significantly.

Yes, as stated earlier, Saint Peter's is likely to really hurt. This team is the poster child for teams that you do not schedule.

All the pressure was on the pitcher and we put all the pressure on ourselves by asking izzie to lay down the bunt. That's the definition of being too cute and trying to force your brand of baseball in an unnecessary situation.
Suicide didn't need to be perfect. He could have bunted it right back to the pitcher and Jam scores. Jam was about 10' from home plate when the ball was bunted. The reason it didn't work was he tried to make it too perfect.

I liked the call. First Williams was home almost immediately. Any kind of fair bunt wins the game. Anything other than a pop up or a foul. It was like he materialized there he got there so quick. Second you will need to be able to execute those plays later in the season in pressure packed games. Perfect chance to do it in a game where you already won the series and get some confidence.

I wish we used more slash hits in situations like that. Show bunt to draw the infield in and chip one right over their heads.

That's a recipe for an infield pop-up. It was hard enough to get a hit on that pitcher without showing bunt. He only gave up 2 hits in 4.2 innings pitched with 7 Ks. I don't agree with every squeeze Talbot calls, but I had no problem with the squeeze call yesterday.

Not to disparage Kasuls, as Antchak will be gone, but he could easily take his spot next year. He's a switch hitting Blake Trahan with more power and speed.

Kasuls could end up at 2B, in that case.

You might be thinking of someone else. He topped out 86 at PG off the mound, 5-10, 175#. I believe he was signed as a position player. According to Talbot "We absolutely love the combination of tools and mental make-up that Hayden will bring. He is currently the quarterback on a very good Teurlings Catholic football team. He's an electric runner with plus actions, and a bat that plays well from both sides of the plate. We couldn't be more excited about Hayden's future at Louisiana."
