This was the lot I was referencing, but while the extra property would be nice it's probably not big enough for very many courts. It would probably be big enough for one indoor tennis court for inclement weather.
I've stated it a bunch of times, but I always thought the area across the Cajundome Blvd tunnel from Lamson Park where they do intramurals would be a great additional parking/tailgate area. You could build in/out access from Cajundome Blvd and would be great primary parking for softball and secondary parking for Bourgeios and football/basketball if needed. It could also be used for the fraternity houses. There are plenty of times where parking for softball at Cajun Field is a pain due to other events and this would be an easy fix. That being said, I don't think they would do it as I think they'd rather keep it as a green space.
Safe to say if the crowds make noise like they did in the past it is going to be a lot louder at the tigue!
The scaffolds are about finised and they have the steps formed at the third base entrance.
Yeah, the tailgating issue is a big barrier. But I'm not sure what you mean by the extra infrastructure costs of getting around the 3rd baseline? I guess that's my real question: besides replacing the existing bleachers with grandstands, where/what would be the next logical place to expand? Because ultimately we will need to....and I predict much sooner than many might expect.
Look at post #1294. Parking..... much easier and economical on F-Base line rather than 3rd B-line with the master plan.
I have to tell everyone...this is the PERFECT example of build it and they will come. We keep worrying about how to pay for things but the minute someone takes the risk and puts it out there we can barely keep up.
