Well you're a leftist socialist. Own it, wear it. Most leftist prefer a code name progressive. Constantly progressing to meddle in everyone else's lives.

Did you read that from the Drudge Report's Handbook for sounding conservative?

Getting back on topic, I'm somewhat amazed that the bigwigs here in Lafayette haven't put forth an effort to bring a bowl game to Cajun Field. It could be a huge moneymaker for the city and the entire region during what typically is a quiet time (in terms of festivals and events) in Acadiana.

that's an excellent point... I was also thinking that if san diego struggled part of reason could be higher expenses to go there, (although more people would want to go and have more to offer) may be a double edged sword.... strange too they would announce this after chargers leaving, seems they would want to use the stadium for as many games as possible...

I thought about the Chargers part, too, but San Diego may be holding out hope for a return of the Chargers. With the Raiders' chances of moving to Las Vegas getting slimmer by the day, the Chargers may have to go crawling back to San Diego when (a) Los Angeles fans don't flock to their games and/or (b) Mark Davis tries to move the Raiders to L. A.

The Raiders said they'd kick up their portion of the stadium funding by $650M to a total of $1B to make up for the company that dropped out. I think they are also committed by contract to stay in Oakland another two years.

Cajunmike- I think if bowls are reduced from 40 to 30, it will be bad for us. It would mean 18-20 more G5 teams stay at home during postseason. Possibly 1 or 2 P5 teams would lose out on an annual basis. Bowls are a reward for the fans as well as the universities.

Bowls are and should be a reward for the players. You run stadiums with them in January at 4:30 am?
