Extremely Qualified, was probably an Alden hire at UM. Also noted on his twitter account a post about a half million dollar donation to athletics. But Brah, he needs to do something with dat hair....

Haha I noticed that too... checkout his LinkedIn profile... his hair is a little more normal here. I sure hope the Search Committee was considering hair styles as one of their top qualifications.

UM guy doesn't seem nearly as qualified (based on his bio page, only since that is the only info I have) as the other two.

I like the OU, LSU, then distant 3rd the UM guy. But since Alden is involved here, he may be pushing his guy more than the others??? IDK, just asking.

That's what I was thinking. One big missing factor that none of us can possibly know by just reading their bio, is what their personalities are like. I think we can all agree that a big personality is needed in this position. We don't need another soft-spoken, behind the scenes guy like Farmer. We don't need a loud-mouth either, just someone in between that can be professional and assertive in what they want to get down and make it known.

After reading Alford's bio from OU, I was thinking he jumped around a lot and that may be a negative. But after reading his LinkedIn profile, he has some really glowing reviews of his character and style of closing business. Man, this guy could be a big asset. This is such a big decision and so many things to take into consideration... one thing is for sure, I respect the committee greatly, however I certainly do not envy their job in this matter.

I am truly excited to see who ends up getting the job and see what kind of comments come out from the committee and TJoe as to what they liked and what ultimately resulted in them getting the job. Those face-to-face interviews are the real story here. Would love to know more about how those went.

I had those same thoughts....but since Alden really knows his stuff, maybe that's a really good thing?

UM guy's bio reads just like Terry Don Phillip's did when we hired him. Terry Don Philips also had a PHD and a similar bio, that is not a bad thing.

So I was lurking on TigerDroppings and stumbled upon this thread started by a UL fan. Asking what exactly "Austin Thomas" does for LSU. And the thread is littered with high praise of this guy from all of their fans, with one person even saying "he should be our next AD". My head is spinning now. What if this is the actual guy from LSU and not Nunez? Thomas is LSU's GM and was recently promoted to Assistant Athletic Director in 2016 as a lure back from going to USC for a short stint. Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree, or maybe I'm not.

Two comments, it's is Nunez and not Thomas. On your post concerning Alford, he has already been eliminated and wasn't invited down to Lafayette.
