Everything you mentioned is vital to the athletic program and the role of an athletic director. But Jim Harris is just one man and he answers to RCAF, or was supposed to have been when hired. His job is to work in coordination with the athletic director, raising the funds and also potential revenue streams including media rights and branding. Jim Harris is focused on building RCAF, your athletic director's role is broader in bringing in corporate sponsorship and additions revenue streams for the entire athletic program. They must work together at times, but he will also need to address specific areas of raising revenue opportunities beyond RCAF members and local business. Given the present health of our local economy, it is vital that we must find alternative revenues moving forward, or conferences won't even consider our program in discussion.
Again, ask any successful AD or read their comments in articles and by far their #1 responsibility is to raise funds and find alternative revenue streams. We need someone that has those skills going forward, or we are going to be left further behind.
You get a red dot! And you get a red dot! And you get a red dot!
I think we should build a wall to stop all the red dots from coming into our board-ers.
