I guess I am not making myself clear here. I am not talking about the defense and offense running unto the field with the players the want. I am talking about the center is ready to snap the ball. The ref. has stopped the play during that situation several times....

If you have your eleven players that you want (and you are at the line and your QB is calling the play) why in the hell the ref. is coming up to the center and the PLAY CLOCK is still running and he stops the play.

If the defense is not ready hell with it. When the offense is at the line and ready they can't bring in as offensive substitute. That's a penalty, illegal substituting......
    Calm down.

I agree with Dre on that issue.

The rule now reads once the offense subs, the defense may sub. It happens to AState every game where we make 1 substitution and quickly line up, but are held up because the defense ran 5 lumbering D Linemen on. It doesn't matter if the offense is set, once they sub, the defense must be allowed time to sub and line up

It really is called the Nick Saban rule. It was one of the compromises from a few years ago when the SEC started making noise about requiring teams to wait 11 seconds before snapping the ball.

If the offense subs late and the defense can't get on before the play clock expires, that's on the offense, not the defense according to the letter of the rule. The solution around it is to not substitute except during obvious stoppages in play.

I like Terrance a lot. He will be called upon a LOT next year.

With the exception of a handful of statistical categories looks like we did really well against georgia. We had better offensive stats against them than bama had against chatanooga

Turnovers (Which apparently we all know are not important) and the couple of brain farts at the beginning of the game with the poor kick coverage and allowing the long TD early killed us. Played well outside of that although I do think the overall offensive stats may possibly be misleading since a good chunk of our yardage came in garbage time late.

We had roughly 200 yards at the half. Yards were well distributed between ground and air. That's not weak.

Also TOP was very good at half and end of game.

We did play more competitively than I expected yesterday. I also have to give credit to a unit of which I have been a harsh critic and that is the OL. I think they showed improvement in their performance yesterday and that is encouraging going forward. In order to gain over 400 yards on an SEC team, that unit has to play with some competence. The two fourth down stops were exceptions of course. On the one in which Jennings carried the ball, I believe he was the victim of a poor spot.
