What's really funny is that mckyNeese fans do get how much they suck....and why. More proof, and LOTS of wisdom in these posts where they compare our succes and future, and the lackthereof in UpChuck:
1)"One problem you find in comparing the Lake Charles and Lafayette metro areas, is Lafayette is bigger, more populous and has more Millionaires than we do. That means more enrollment and booster money for ULL"
2)"Here we go again! Gentlemen, your passion for McNeese Football is exemplary and may I say contagious. But, here are some realities:
1. To go FBS, it takes MONEY!! A lot of money we do not have nor expect to have anytime in the future.
2. The Bobby Jindal administration has GUTTED higher education. There is NO MONEY coming from the state, just money cuts! Please thank the Lake Charles delegation for its help in that scenario! Start with Chuck Kleckley. He's the speaker of the House.
3. McNeese students do not want to support ANY kind of athletics if it involves more students fees and they already pay the lowest in the Southland Conference. Imagine that!
4. The ONLY folks that I have found that sincerrely WANT to help McNeese football are ex-football players. Hell, we almost had a boycott in the Cowboy Club because members didn't want to pay ONE MORE DOLLAR for a MEAL!!
5. You can't hope to dream big when the mentality in Lake Charles is THINK SMALL! I live in Lafayette and the two cities are WORLD'S APART when it comes to forward thinking. Lake Charles has none!!!!!
6. UL head football coach obtained pledges of 1.2 MILLION DOLLARS in one luncheon meeting at the Petroleum Club. McNeese's Athletic Administration can't even count that high!
7. As far as the plants. . . . . FORGET IT. . . . PPG contacted McNeese during their 60 year anniversary to name the BASEBALL STADIUM with a donation of $1 MILLION DOLLARS only to be slammed with NO from the Pittsburgh office. It is okay to spend 60 years polluting the air and water around Lake Charles but don't spend a FREAKIN' dime on the university!!
I have spent well into 6 figures over the last 10 years on McNeese Athletics and have often cried at the lack of dedication toward this university from the locals and the lack of vision from the administration both academic and athletic.
So, if any of you have ANY ideas to find the MILLIONS of DOLLARS that we need. . . .send me a private message. I'm open to listening!! Lord knows I've tried to lead by example and I guess that does not work either. BUT GOING TO THE FBS IS A PIPE DREAM WHEN YOU HAVE SEEN THE FINANCES I HAVE SEEN AND THE MANAGEMENT OF THE UNIVERSITY THAT IS TRYING TO WORK MIRACLES WITH A STATE THAT JUST PLAIN DOES NOT GIVE A SH&*%T FOR ANY UNIVERSITY NOT NAMED LSU"

The University of Louisiana SYSTEM was created in 1974, at the same time the Board of Regents was created, under the La State Constitution of 1974. The ULS was and is comprised of 9 existing and established schools, to serve the educational needs of the whole state.
There is no flag ship.
If the system had been originally named "The University of Southwestern Louisiana System," you might have a point about the whole appropriated name fiasco. However, it wasn't and you don't.
In 1999, the Louisiana legislature allowed USL to undertake a name change, however, because there is no Flag Ship in the ULS system, by design, the legislators wisely included verbiage which afforded ALL of the 9 members the opportunity to adopt "The University of Louisiana" as long as the name change included the municipal designator signifying where each school was domiciled.
This is the EXACT same naming convention the state uses for the Louisiana STATE University system, which does have a Flag Ship, ergo Louisiana State University - Alexandria, Louisiana State University - Eunice, Louisiana State University - Shreveport, with the municipality designators for each school.
I'm sorry that USL fans feel like they're special little snowflakes where the extant laws of the State of Louisiana shouldn't apply, and where they can self-identify as whatever they want, oblivious to what they actually are in a safe space where common sense and reason don't apply to them.
What will USL demand next, trigger warnings?
Oh, wait. Nevermind. I just read the thread where USL and the Slum Belch whined, stamped their wittle feet and held their breath until ESPN3 and Raycom created a broadcasting safe space for them by expanding the broadcast team covering the game that USL didn't have a ____ing thing to do with pitching to the networks or setting up. Just like the naming fiasco, USL comes in after the fact and tries to appropriate something that somebody else created.
Maybe I'll should put trigger warnings on my posts so your delicate sensibilities suffer the affrontery of being asked to consider things logically and rationally??
The roach is still here.
