I'll keep saying it: Footwork. Any QB guru you speak to will harp on this.

    AJ: A
    JD: C-
    JN: Is a running back

Which I would imagine is a lot more complicated than what he is learning now...which is why it's used in the pros.

I think you are blinded by a hate for lsu that makes you say irrational things. The kid graduated in 3.5 years and is now going for his masters, he is picking up our offense better in 5 days than the others in 5 months. Go listen to his interview with Ben Love and tell me if you think That our other QB's can't learn anything from this guy.
You may hate LSU, and it's players. I don't period. He may be a superior quarterback to Davis. My comments are isolated to what's Davis learning on the sidelines. Nothing, except patience as Jennings rode a lot of pine.

I guess you think that's the only time a player learns? 3 hours on Saturday? Only roughly 36 hours of game time...39 if you lucky...16-24 hours of that of offense...compared to how many preparing?

Keep grasping. I'm no Davis groupie. Jennings is average bright. I knew many people graduating in three years using summer school as ways to get hours. They had to battle work, non ptefential scheduling, no free tutoring. Not trashing Jennings brains, just not in awe.

Davis isn't learning jack riding the pine. He may never be a starter, but that's on him not some mo learning.

I'm not the one grasping...if he can't beat out a guy as you say "rode a whole lotta pine" and has been here for a week as opposed to 3 years then what is it? What is he lacking that they are nervous to turn it over to him with no experience?

What gets me is that they gave him the reigns before AJ arrived. He's put the necessary work in both on the field and off, I imagine. We go into spring game and it's supposed to be extremely vanilla with no audibles whatsoever. I understand he was not able to utilize his running ability due to non-contact, but he still kind of looked lost out there instead of being crisp and hitting some quick slants, dropping off timing screens, etc. He just kind of looked average.

Now, I do think that if non-contact was lifted he would've looked a lot better, but the coaches came out and publically admitted to harshly judging and grading him out off of this scrimmage.....what gives? What is he not grasping? Is he a practice guy with no on-field transition?

If AJ wins the battle after being on campus for 30 days, then the picture is painted....

For the record, I like Davis

Why isn't Dion Ray in the mix? Has Hud already started whispering in his ear to become a wide receiver? Would Dion Ray even stay here knowing our offensive mindset takes a dump on the forward pass, being a quarterback or wide receiver? Does Chinese Chicken Salad exist? These are questions.

All things being equal, I think it comes down to this simple thing: some guys are QBs, some guys are athletes. A successful QB has a certain skill set mentally that a pure athlete does not possess.

At this level, I think you can win with an athlete under center, but I think with a QB, you can dominate.
