It's been a while, but from what I remember the Cajuns followed EP throughout his senior season but interest picked up after the Top 28. Ehret High had another standout guard who got suspended from team during EP's senior year. EP stepped forward and had a breakout all-state season but was still growing and rail thin at 6-1. Almost all the D1s that knew about him either didn't have an available scholarship (they'd finished their signing class in the fall) or had other guys ahead of him on their board. Tulsa was on him a bit and Texas A&M apparently suggested for him to go to prep school for a year. Xavier in New Orleans was his only other scholarship when he signed with the Cajuns.

The only way I see that happening is if Kadavion Evans is something special during preseason practices.

That's what I recall Josh. Your version is recounted almost verbatim in this SI story around the time of the draft.

From what I've seen of Evans on video he reminds me more of the type of player Shepherd has been the past few years, a shooter who can run the point for a few minutes when he has to.

Little Rock didn't win because of Lis Shoshi (although he did hit a big shot).

To contend, we must be better at the guard spot. That includes shooting, ball handling and defending CONSISTENTLY.
A guy told me the other day that every NCAA champion in the past umpteen years has had a guard that went on to the NBA. The guard spot greatness is the key to greatness IMO.

EP under recruited because coaches were all too lazy to know what grade he was in. That kid fell into our laps as his dad looked for the right opportunity.

EP was never a scoring machine. He made others Better scorers. He made the opposition weaker everywhere.
Never said Elfrid was a scoring machine. We need shooters/scorers preferably at guard with all of our good role playing forwards. Michael Allen, Todd Hill, Tony Moore, Byron Starks types. Was referring to Elfrid being under recruited. If you don't like EP reference, how about Stove, Wronkowski, Plaisance, I could go on and on.

---Well I sure hope Hedge is back--thought he to be one great athlete---BTW the between the legs back pass to Hedge for the dunk by Long maybe in the top 5 UL plays ever---But times where he played D, shot the 3, rebounded, and slashed to the goal for a dunk!!!

My thoughts also. I didn't want to comment feeling that I would be crucified if I did.

Wasn't able to find the stories I wrote about EP when he was being recruited by the Cajuns, but that's what I remembered. His HS coach was saying he's the next Rajon Rondo. Really an incredible story.
