We have some serious weapons on O. That's for sure
Let's hope it continues and they get even better. But we all know why Louisiana won last night. I was drinking from my lucky Ragin Cajun frosty mug.

I have to admit I didn't drink from it for the Akron and Latex games. Sorry I let the team down.

Either QB could have won the game tonight. I think Nixon did a great job, and deserves the nod going forward. It isn't that I think he's better than Haack (I seriously don't know) but with the confidence this start should give him, we need someone that plays confidently going forward. We will play SBC teams that are much better than Tx St.

I saw both great defensive effort and some breakdowns last night. But we seemed to fly to the ball in the second half. We can't lose coverages as often against the better SBC teams. Tx St wasn't that challenging of an offense.

It was a good win and some good medicine for the team (players).
Fans will always give players credit for wins and blame coaches for losses.

My services were needed on the diamond. Annual Alumni softball tourney. I didn't think we would win so many games, but I did make it to the second half! We'll be back next home game.

Really? From your past posts, you claim the fans always blame the president and the AD. You need to make up your mind. You're one of "the fans". Who do you credit and who do you blame? Be careful... I think you snagged yourself in a web of your own making... again.

You might want to go back and read all of the QB bickering from the past decade. There's another layer of fans that always blame the QB. There's even some extremely stupid fans that blame other fans. So... no... every fan doesn't blame the same.

In a season the fans should give players credit for wins, coaches credit for the loses. Just as head coaches should take responsibility for the loses, and give credit to staff and players for the wins. Ultimately the head coach gets the credit good and bad for both, he gets the money, acclaim, and blame and that is as it should be.

It's not the players responsibility to formulate a game plan. It's not the players responsibility to put together a team, staff, or training. It's his job to work hard and try and do what the coaches are teaching. If he is not capable, it is the coaches fault for bringing him here. If he is not open to coaching again it is the coaches fault for bringing him here. If he is not being given a good game plan, good training again that is not on him. There is hardly a player who makes a team that can be blamed for dogging it, or not being able to do IT because those players are gone.

I would caution against assuming Haack lacks the qualities to which you refer. Even If he does lack those qualities, and you - or anyone else on this board KNOWS this based on first hand observations - I caution against it.
Again: 21 year old kids playing in exchange for scholarships, not million dollar contracts.
Lets give them a bit of a break -- they read these boards..........

With all respect, if you are still yakking about QB, you missed the real story in this game.

Texas State isn't good defensively. But they are a solid offensive team.
And while our offense was taking control, our defense embarrassed them.
Dead on BOP.. I work a lot in Austin... a couple of the guys are Tx St alums... They expected to lose but said you better score 50 against us.... they hung a lot of points on So Miss... even Fla State (at least comparatively a lot of points for the nit pickers)... I thought our D played really well.. the Offense did what it was supposed to do.... I left Cajun Field happy...
