T, I certainly didn't mean to imply you pre-f'ed him questions. My comment wasn't meant as an attack on anyone, just purely an observation. He has obviously been in contact with the non good ole boys for the last couple years and has been informed with our programs shortcomings. There's no denying that. He knows what his backers want to hear. And there's nothing wrong with that.
Keep in mind, I've never called the RCAF Board good ole boys, but I do believe the process was conducted in a good ole boy way. He called several members good friends, so I think that should end any speculation that he has had some rift with any of them.
I'm going to offer the RCAF hire the same opportunity to come on and talk about his vision and it will be conducted with the same respect. I have no intentions of making that person an enemy of supporters. The problem begins on campus in my opinion.
Wait, we're behaving as if Hale is done with us. I asked a certain contact that if Steve was truly out, and thought our petition or our push for him to be interviewed/hired was futile to let me know and I'd pull the petition and stop my crusade. That message was never sent. So... I'm going to keep pushing, and those who liked what they heard should do the same.
A group of us also have an ace in the whole regarding RCAF. So if the board and Farmer think they're going to sweep this under the rug and it'll blow over, think again. I would strongly advise the board members to either come clean with what's going on or interview Steve Hale. Because it could and will get worse if nothing is done.

dang
One of the things I thought was most interesting was the communication, or lack thereof, between campus organizations trying to raise money. Not speaking specifically about us, but I think our RCAF and Alumni Association are on two separate planets at times.
I liked the topic of the RCAF website having no sticking power. I ONLY go there to renew.... And it still frustrates the hell out of me. I end up having to call every time because "the cart" can't allocate funds as needed. I'm short tempered and at times want to just say " f it" if it doesn't want to take my money.
Several other good discussion points like sun belt OG, potential for us.... I have always thought Tech has done well with branding, he pointed that out.
I understand your point, Duggie. But that aside, do you at least see the wide range of knowledge and contacts he brings to the table that the likely finalist fundraiser, even if he is a great fundraiser does not bring to the job? Hale has the ability to help this program in so many more areas.
Now maybe the ideal situation would be that immediately after announcing the fundraising hire Farmer announces his immediate resignation and TJoe designates Hale as interim AD until they can go through all the hoops, interview some SWAC candidate to comply with the law and then name Hale permanent AD.
