Believe it or not, RCAF board members and admin read this board and have ppl who report back to them. They send messages through them to muddy the waters when people start to get too close to the truth. If you read earlier posts, CajunT, Zeebart, Hawk, and myself all told you this would happen today.

Also Steve was compiling his references recently so I doubt he had them handy during his "interview" last summer at Ruth Chris'.
Not including references with a resume would really be a non-issue from my viewpoint, at least not initially. Typically, if there's interest in a candidate, because of the time lag involved, a phone call would usually be made, current interest in the job gauged, and an attempt to define salary requirements, etc would be made.

Now, for a position of this magnitude and with the scope of responsibilities required, I would imagine there would come a point where professional references are requested.

If such references were requested of Mr. Hale and he dropped the ball by providing references who did not then comment positively on their professional relationships with him, then I can understand why he did not make the final cut. That's the point I was trying to make.

Guys.. Keep pushing for Hale. Keep demanding answers. It will pay off. Don't quit. Now is the time.

I totally understand where you're coming from. What I'm saying is it never got to that point, because he was never interviewed, per Charlie Moncla's quotes in DA and per Steve Hale's phone call today.

Perfectly reasonable, but he was never contacted this summer or after he sent his resume in because he did not provide one over the past year in multiple meetings. But it is also common for highly qualified people to insert in their resume references will be presented upon request or interview. So anyone that submitted a resume under the assumption he or she was going to be interview based upon comments during multiple unofficial meetings would have done the same thing.

I know I am not a big poster but all I asked were 2 things..1- Steve Hale gets an interview and 2- some one from the media gets involved and asks the questions....Thanks...one of those have been completed...

Since 2002 strange and new topics always generate new posters.

I see nothing strange in this, certainly no conspiracy, and the timing fits.

I don't think it will be that simple to get rid of him if he sucks. Our AD has screwed up repeatedly and he's still employed here.

Steve Hale was asked to apply for this job and go through the process by board members and some supporters close to the Administration. He was told that he would " get his day" in front of the committee. He was willing to serve even in a support capacity in the Athletic Department and while meeting with two of the highest members of our Administration told them exactly that. At the time he made that statement the Senior Associate AD position was open because Ken Winstead had departed. He and his wife love the Acadiana area and its culture and are very familiar with the area. Both of their children were born here while he was a member of the Ragin Cajun Football Staff
He is a former Division FBS Coach and former CEO of a 501c3 organization and currently working for a National Media management company based in New York City.
Steve has 15 years in Coaching for the following Football programs and their Head Coaches
East Carolina University, Pat Dye; Clemson University, Danny Ford; University of Alabama, Paul Bear Bryant and Ray Perkins; UL, Nelson Stokley; USM, Curley Hollman and Jeff Bower. He was the Recruiting Coordinator at Alabama, UL and USM.
He spent 19 years as President and CEO of the Mobile Arts and Sports Association (DBA Senior Bowl, LLC). While there he acquired a large number of connections & working relationships were developed with all Division FBS/FCS Football playing Conferences and their Commissioners, the NFL and its affiliated clubs and all national media entities and sports apparel corporations. He was responsible for the management and financial Health of this 501c3 organization which required STRATEGIC PLANNING, DIVERSE METHODS OF FUNDRAISING and SPONSORSHIP DEVELOPMENT. He also oversaw MARKETING STRATEGIES, ADVERTISING and MEDIA RELATIONS.
In cooperation with the City of Mobile Civic Leaders he oversaw the funding and planning of CAPITAL PROJECTS.
This man took a Bowl game dead in the water and about to fold…on the verge of bankruptcy, and turned it into a multimillion dollar annual product that at the end of his tenure other Cities were bidding to host.
Now if everything that I have posted so far isn't fundraising then what in the Hell is????

At present he is Vice President of Football the Football Division of Headline Media Management. His relationships with high profile coaches, sports media personalities, collegiate conferences and all other major sports broadcast networks led to the CEO of Headline Media to approach him about founding a football division for Headline Media

Steve Hale has stated to the RCAF interview Committee that he would like the opportunity to share his vision with them by providing the resources necessary for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and it's Student Athletes to compete at the highest level. Remember, this man was asked to apply for this position and was told that he would get "his day" in front of the committee. They are aware that he would be glad to serve in a support capacity. Why? The City, the Culture and the fact that he relishes the challenge of bringing this University to the Athletic level that he has always believed it deserves. As of right now after flirting with this man it appears that he won't even get an interview? Why?
A question his wife asked me, "do they know how great they can be"? well?

    No further comment from me.

Once again, great job BJ. Might be time to move on, though. We don't deserve a guy of this caliber. We are comfortable here......in the Sun Belt......with no shot at a BCS bowl.......

When and by who was Steve Hale told he would "get his day" in front of the committee?
