Wait, does San Diego still want a word with me?
If I were Loomis I would try to trade the 13th pick and a 3rd round pick to move up and get Amari Cooper. Then draft and OL at 31, Petty at 44 and address the defense after that.

    Cajunhawk logic:
Random Person (not as smart as CajunHawk) - did you see that game by Drew Bree's? He threw for 400yds and 3 Td's. It's a shame he threw that pick at the end of the game. It shouldn't have come down to that though. The defense can't give up 35 points.
CajunHawk (much smarter than random person) - can you get your nose out of Drew's fumble for a minute? The defense was playing him like a violin. They totally gave him the first 400 yards so they could set him up for the int. Playing against Brees is slightly tougher than playing against Jay Cutler. You do realize he has only won 1 Super Bowl!
Random idiot person: I don't know. I see a little slippage in his play but he still looks like a top tier qb.
CajunHawk- are you gay? Do I need to buy you some knee pads? The guy is worshipped only because Nola is a cesspool.
Random idiot person (getting smarter by the minute decides to just agree). - you may be right. I just hope Brees can complete a few passes downfield this year.

You said he could not run for 1000 yard in the SBC. You said Auburn was the reason he was good ( see a pattern here). He never touched the field. Our bet never started.

Guys, sorry about the thread hijack. I will leave this be. I do my share of Brees bashing on his salary, but I do like watching the guy play. We all strive to become the best we can be. In Brees' case he has achieved it.

There is no doubt that Brees is elite and a hard worker. There is also no doubt that the system Peyton runs allows him to put up Xbox numbers compared to what he did in San Diego.

He played last year at Louisville...tallied 223 monster yards.

Not true, he had 481 yards on 110 carries, missed 5 of there 13 games. He had 2 games of over 100 yards rushing for Louisville. Averaged 4.4 yards per carry and had 5 TD's.

Granted it was not 1000 yards at Louisville, but if he would have played all 13 games he would have easily rushed for close to 800. I do believe if he would have seen the field at stAte, he would have easily rushed for over 1000, hell he was on pace to do it at Louisville against much tougher competition. One of the games he missed was vs Murray State.

here is where I am pulling the information from:

    http://espn.go.com/college-football/...1/michael-dyer

He had 223 yards his Junior Year at Louisville, he only played in 7 games that year.

Cajun4life, I disagree with trading up in this draft. The Saints are not 1 or 2 players away from being a super bowl contender and the 2015 draft is deep through the first four rounds. I'm all for the New England Patriots model of adding extra picks to leverage against several bust in your draft picks. I would either trade down from the 13th if my first three on the board are not there when I draft or trade out of the first with the 31st pick and grab more picks. Here is my draft scenario, trading the 31st pick for a 2nd round and 4th round picks.

    First Round
    13) Shane Ray (Missouri)
    31) Trade to the Jets for pick 5 (2nd Round #37) and 5th (4th Round #104)

    Second Round
#37) OL Cameron Irving (Florida State)
    #44) ILB Stephon Johnson (Clemson)

    Third Round
    #75) TE Clive Walford (Miami)
#78) CB Steve Nelson (Oregon State)

    Fourth Round
#104) WR Trae McBride (William & Mary)
#136) DL Lynden Trail (Norfolk State)- Trade 5th (#148) 6th (#187) to Baltimore

    Fifth Round
    #154) OL Sean Hickey (Syracuse)

    Sixth Round
    None

    Seventh Round
#230) QB Bryan Bennett (Southeastern Louisiana)

    My reasons for each pick
    13) Shane Ray – I think both Ray and Dupree will still be on the board, either is fine here
31st) Why not trade this pick? Slide back in the 2nd and pick up another pick in the 4th ...lots of value there
    37) Irving can play center, guard or tackle (Great value and back up to injury risk Max Unger) Starting Guard
#44) Either Johnson, Perryman or Kendricks would be good here. (I like Johnson) If they believe in Humber, why trade for Ellobee?
#75) Wolford has time to grow behind Watson and Hill, very athletic
#78) Nelson doesn't have to start this year, provides depth and future
#104) McBride provides good size and speed- Greg Jennings addition will help develop
#136) Trail provides a DL that can play the 7 Tech in the 3-4, has time to develop
#154) Hickey comes in to work behind Stief for the future, plays mean like him
#230) This late you have nothing to lose with Bennett here, position needs another young QB

I think Shane Ray in a one trick pony. All he can do is rush the passer. jury still out on him.

Stefan Johnson from Clemson maybe the best inside linebacker for us in the draft
