The question about Marlin was not player development or X and O coaching, it was recruiting when he came in. I think most fans prior to Marlin were tired of coaches who didn't seem to be able to execute a game plan in a game. Evans and Lee could recruit but they sometimes seemed lost on the court. Marlin was supposed to be the polar opposite of these two guys. A tactical guy who knew the game and was known for getting the most out of the players he had.

I think you're on to something. We've been hiring polar opposites. We need to find our next coach at the equator.

My realistic expectations are quite simple. Day in and day out play to the level of your talent. Consistency is what I'm looking for. We have yet to see a Bob Marlin coached team play well for extended periods of time, minus the first year he was here.

If this team would play to the level of the talent on the floor we would only have 1 loss. Year in and year out we are inconsistent, that is coaching.

You have zero milestone achievements that you look for in our program? No conference championships, no post season appearances, etc.? Just play to your talent level? Hell, we could have kept Robert Lee at a smaller salary if that is what you are looking for in our basketball program. He had few talented players so they won few games. His teams were consistent every single year.

To put the three losses early in the season on Broadway is complete BS. I'm sure you will label me the apologist if you haven't already even though the funny and interesting part is that I've been as critical of him as some here. That team was just playing god awful and the debacle against Tech was not his fault. Its kind of like some of you who say the debacle against USA last year was not Haack's fault. Did he play his best? No, However, he rarely had time to make a decision against those teams early as his line could not keep anybody off of him and our receivers struggled to get any type of separation ALL year.

Would we have been 4-0 if Broadway played as well as he did Saturday, probably not. But he threw 7 or 8 interceptions in the first 4 games. He was terrible early in the season. I'm not labeling you as anything, but we were as good as he was all season.

I played the WR position for 2 years here, we will never agree on how good our WRs were. Those kids can play, they do get separation, but TB isn't the type of QB who could hit them consistently.

You want to talk about goals. If this team would play consistent basketball we would win the west. Make a run in the tournament and possibly the NCAA tournament.

You can't accomplish any goals if you can't perform consistently. So that is my number one goal.

I expect 25 win seasons and an RPI below 125 year in and year out! In an RPI league of 25 that is realistic with our facilities and tradition.

You're right we won't. Our entire passing game went to short and intermediate routes. Teams started running a single safety over the top with the other in the box because they didn't respect our passing game downfield. You say its because he couldn't throw the deep ball. I say its because teams were confident they could cover our receivers downfield and get a ton of pressure on Broadway which they did. You mention the INT's. How many of those were thrown with men chasing him down because we couldn't pass block? I watched the Ole Miss game twice and don't remember 2 passes he threw where he wasn't under immediate duress.

I'm not saying he played great but those losses and overall play were attributable to the entire team, not just him. Tech was not his fault. We gave up big play after big play and that's on the defense which never turned the field position and gave us a shot.

You keep pointing out that we are going to lose games in the sunbelt, won't win the conference and won't be dancing at the end of the year, but claim we have the talent to do so. Let's see what happens. The team from LaTech shows up for conference and we don't lose a game.
