Robe needs a raise. I don't think he would leave us but given our success, I wouldn't be surprised if a bigger school in need of a coach comes calling and says, we'll pay you way more than 120k.

When people got on my case last year for suggesting we shouldn't be spending money on a football stadium expansion we don't really need, this is what I was talking about.
That 6 million dollars could have helped pay Deggs enough to not make him want to go looking elsewhere.
The new park would pay for itself and Robe's raise.
Cajun Rebel = champagne taste on a beer budget.
i think a deal will get re done, but in 2010 we werent anything yet in football, and the rcaf was just getting put together. in 2010 to pay the baseball coach here 120,000 when our football guy was at 220,000 doesnt sound all that out of the right ball park.
I don't think you can compare coaching salaries between sports. You have to compare them with your peers, which in our case would be our conference or on the overall success of the program nationally. In baseball, I think you have to look at him compared to our conference as it's been historically a really good baseball conference. Then you'd look at a number of factors, not just win-loss records. I think attendance plays a big part in that. If I remember correctly, for a long time baseball was the only sport that typically operated in the black. I think that has to play a pretty major part in the salaries as well.
Not going to get deep into this, but I'll say this:
Hud has success...gets an extension and a raise
Marlin is doing it the right way, gets a raise and an extension and goes out and wins a championship.
There's a pattern here. Those that perform get rewarded. I'm sure the same will apply to Robe.
And, this is just my opinion, but if Coach Deggs wants to be a head coach and a school like SHSU wants him, I don't think getting him a healthy raise here is going to matter.
He is interviewing for another job
