Cal Poly swept Fullerton, that's impressive

While impressive, Fullerton has been a major disappointment this year. Barely over .500 record wise and hanging around 50 in the RPI.

It seems like Robe has given up on the national seed.

No reason to manage bullpen that way if he thought there was a chance at a national seed.
obviously just trying to get some bullpen guys some work in a tight spot.

You guys are cracking me up trying to make a case that Robe doesn't know what he is doing. We are 36-5 or something like that, ranked #1, and just won a conference weekend series on the road.

Warren Nolan has us at #13 now.
I said 4 maybe 5. I still believe 4 and that includes not losing more than once in a week and winning the conference tournament.

That's the point, giving it away. You are up by three so lets see what the bullpen can do. Lets give them some work. I agree giving them some work but there is a time and place. We were winning so why change what's working at the time.....Pulling Plitt was a no brainer. Not in trouble. Let him finish. No, I am not a pitching coach.

If I were a voter in the polls, I would not have dropped Virginia for going 3-1 on the week and taking 2/3 from North Carolina ... for a #2 team that swept Texas-Arlington.

I guess I probably should not say that a win over UNO and UTA would have resulted in a current RPI ranking of #4 (instead of #14) in the country (.6036). Right on the heels of a #3 Houston team that would not be a national seed if the season ended today. Whoops, did I just say that?

We just do not have the schedule to do it (not enough room for error). You have to go all the way down to #30 (Mercer) in the RPI until you find a team that has a worse SOS than the Cajuns (currently #143). This is a really bad year for the Sun Belt to be weak (outside of UL). There are many opportunities to trip up badly. Whereas teams like LSU (or any team from the elite four conferences) are not concerned with this happening (losing to a lower team like a Yale, Tulane, etc.) once they enter conference play ... and can lose some games without being hurt.

The Cajuns also have the worst OWP in the Sun Belt (a paltry .4910). Now, the Cajuns bring up the OWP of all its opponents. But even if you factor out the games vs. UL, only Troy has a worse OWP than the Cajuns in the Sun Belt.

And as far as SOS is concerned, the Cajuns are last in the Sun Belt. But again, factoring out games vs. UL, the Cajuns would be #9 of 10 (Troy would be last). IOW, the Cajuns non-conference SOS is weak.
